SMALL HOLDING & REWILDING
Working In Harmony
small hold croft
Crofting is a traditional social system in Scotland defined by small-scale food production.
Our small holding will work in harmony with our rewilding project :
- Holistically grazing the land
- Producing organically grown vegetables
- Free range meat production
- Honey and bees wax
- Goats milk & honey soap to sell in farm shop
- A variety of free range eggs
- Integration with the local community

NATURAL GRAZING
Animals and nature know best, so we looked at how animals used to move through this landscape, grazing and fertilising as they go. We aim to mimic this using Highland cows, pigs and goats.
Natural rotovators, pigs especially are amazing at rooting and turning over the land, making it better for new growth and seed planting and they are used in combination with other grazers at Harestone moss.
REGENERATIVE FARMING
Our Philosopy
Sustain = Leave the same, and not make worse
Our aim is to… Regenerate – Make it better
We want to look after our small pixel of land in Scotland now, and for years to come. Our philosophy and plans will work with natural processes that increases biodiversity, enriches soils, improves watersheds and captures carbon in the soil – aided by our small team of animals.
- Create the best environment for nature and our animals
- Try to disturb the soil the least
- Leave a living root
- Keep the soil covered with living plants
- Increase Biodiversity
- Animal integration

THE GOAT CREW
Our pygmy goat- Goaty McGoatface what she lacks in size she makes up for in her trouble making abilities!
Leads the rest astray and expert fence jumper
Jack and Victor are named after Still Game’s loveable twosome, and the brothers are equally mischievous and funny.
Marshmallow & Flake
These cute baby goats arrived in November 22 from our Pygmy goat, and have brought such fun and joy to the croft.
We have had a wee name change (from Ias and Winston) as the suspected Daddy , well was not !
They were renamed by a little boy who came to visit and I think it suits them
